STUDENT ALLIANCE LOGO DESIGN CONTEST

Salisbury Pride Student Alliance Logo Design Contest is open to high school students who are members of their school's GSA/ Diversity/ Equality club. 

Contest Information

The Salisbury Pride Student Alliance is a collaborative effort to bring together GSA/ Diversity/ Equality clubs within our community, allowing students to form connections with other students who share similar interests. 

 

The Logo Design Contest offers students the opportunity to design the logo for the SP Student Alliance. The logo will be used on t-shirts, bags, and other items. There is no specific theme for the contest. The shirts and other items will be distributed free of charge to students and others who are affiliated with student organizations in our community. The design should represent the creator’s own interpretation of what the Salisbury Pride Student Alliance represents to them.

 

Entries will be evaluated by an independent internal panel of judges and the winning designer will be awarded a gift basket including Salisbury Pride merchandise and a $100 gift card.

Logo Design Contest Guidelines

Eligibility/Entry

There is no entry fee to submit a design. All entrants must be a member of their high school’s GSA/Diversity/Equality Club. Only one (1) design submission per person is allowed. If you are under the age of 18, your design must be submitted by a parent or guardian on your behalf.  

 

Rules and Guidelines

  1. All entrants must be a local high school student and a member of their school’s GSA/Diversity/Equality Club.

  2. All designs must be the student’s original creation, and incorporate all of the required design components outlined below. Submissions must not have been previously published and must not contain profanity, trademarks, other organization's logos, specific school information, or any copyrighted works of any other person or business.

  3. Design(s) must be submitted in .pdf or .jpg format, on the Logo Design Contest webpage via the submission form by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on March 29, 2024.

  4. Both hand-drawn and digital creations are allowed. 

    1. If the winning submission is a hand-drawn design the creator agrees to submit the original design to Salisbury Pride Inc. within five (5) days of notification so the design may be converted to digital format.

    2. If the winning submission is a digital design the creator agrees to submit the design within five (5) days of notification as a high-resolution layered vector image (if possible) or as a file export from the program used to create the design if the design was created using Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or CorelDRAW.

  5. The winning designer agrees to sign a waiver to allow Salisbury Pride Inc. to use their design, free of charge, for any printing, promotional, and other purposes as determined solely by Salisbury Pride Inc.

  6. The contest winner must agree to work with Salisbury Pride’s printer and/or Salisbury Pride Inc. if slight changes/modifications are necessary for production. If not, an alternate winner may be chosen to meet production deadlines.

Required Design Components

The winning design will be placed on the front of the official Salisbury Pride Student Alliance t-shirt. (Please note: all t-shirts will be white, not subject to change.) 

  1. Theme: There is no specific theme for the contest. The shirts will be distributed free of charge to students and others who are affiliated with student organizations in our community. The design should represent the creator’s own interpretation of what the Salisbury Pride Student Alliance represents to them.

  2. Salisbury Pride Logo: The Salisbury Pride logo may be used in the design if the creator chooses to do so. Click here for the official logo.

  3. Colors: The winning design will be printed on a white t-shirt. Design can use up to ten (10) different colors.

  4. Designs created using t-shirt design websites including but not limited to, Bonfire, CafePress, and Zazzle will NOT be accepted.

 

How Winner is Selected

  1. Entries will be evaluated by an independent internal panel of judges and will be reviewed for:

    • Concept and originality of design

    • Visibility from a reasonable distance

    • Adherence to design and submission rules and guidelines

    • Adherence to the Required Design Components

    • Successfully capturing the spirit of the Salisbury Pride Student Alliance

    • Totality of design and production readiness

 

Fine Print

Publicity and Agreement: Contest entry constitutes an agreement by the submitting designer and/or designer’s parent or legal guardian to grant free license of all copyrights of the submitted works to Salisbury Pride, Inc. in perpetuity, for publicity and promotional purposes. 

Media Release and Agreement: By submitting artwork, you agree that if your design wins, Salisbury Pride Inc. retains first printing rights and a free license, in perpetuity, to utilize the design on t-shirts and other promotional items, marketing, fundraising, public relations materials, and in any other ways Salisbury Pride Inc. determines is necessary. You are guaranteeing that your design does not contain any copyrighted material, including images/copy found on the internet unless clearly marked as published under a Creative Commons (cc) license. Contest entrants who are not selected as the winning designer(s) retain all rights to their artwork.
